We had an excellent adventure today. Our new friend, Donita Jones, offered to take us on a tour of the "Old Dubai" - to see the Spice and Gold Markets and to visit the Dubai Museum. With my girlies and her 4 dear ones, there were 7 kids total. They were troopers in the 107 degree heat. The kids experienced 4 different modes of transportation is 4 hours - metro, bus, boat, and taxi.

We then walked through the Fabric/Textile Souk. We bought gorgeous wall hangings for the girls bedrooms, beautiful shirts - everything was so inexpensive. Annie fell in love with the Arabic mannequin. She loved on him something crazy.
The girls wanted me to buy them these belly dancer outfits, but I held out. Katie was pretty insistent - she thought it was very glamorous.
The Dubai Museum was our next stop. It was very interesting. Did you know that in the 1940's Dubai was barely a city? It is amazing how much has changed and how modern the city is - it's basically only 70 years old. Incredible growth in such a short amount of time.

Back home on the Metro after a long, exciting day. The girls will sleep well tonight.
