Snow Adventure in the Desert!

Two nights ago, we escaped the Middle Eastern heat (its been 107 to 110F) for a night in the snow. Ski Dubai is a surreal winter wonderland in the middle of a huge mall. Complete with ski slopes, toboggan runs, tube slides, and ice sculptures, the completely enclosed refrigerator stays a chilly -2C (28F). The girls had a blast. Annie enjoyed throwing the snow and riding the kiddie snow tube merry-go-round. Maggie and Katie liked the luge type sled rides and climbing the ice walls. Maura survived her first skiing experience (yes, how many people can say they learned to ski in the Dubai desert?).

    I was watching Anthony Bordain's "No Reservations" on Dubai, and he featured this in the show! I am so jealous that you got to go to Dubai, let alone spend the summer there!
