Good news .... Maggie is out of surgery
Good news ... Maggie is out of surgery and in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She'll be there overnight as she recovers from the anesthesia and is evaluated by the medical team. Dr. Ahn said everything went well. The compression was more than expected, so in addition to enlarging the skull opening and removing the C1 bone, they also removed part of the cerebellum tonsils. This removed the CF fluid blockage, and we are very hopeful this will have a significant effect in eliminating/reducing Maggie's headaches and nausea. Maggie has been asking where she is, if Mommy is there, and if she can keep sleeping. Overall, a definite answer to prayer so far! We are so grateful for Dr. Ahn and his team. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We are overwhelmed by God's goodness expressed to us through so many wonderful family and friends.

Praise God for the good news. You have been in my heart all day Shelley. As a mommy I can't stand the thought of what you are going through. But KNOW His grace is sufficient and HE will carry you through this season. May you have peace and rest tonight. Lots of prayers for Maggie for a full recovery.

Shelley - From one mom to another ... my dear sweet friend ... I have prayed for you throughout the day. You dear Maggie is so loved and we prayed for her too. Can't wait for Maggie to come over and play with Addison. She'll be romping around here like old times pretty soon. We're very thankful the surgery went well and will continue to pray for full recovery.
ReplyDeleteShelley,
ReplyDeleteWe just heard about this last night. Lela is in Lena Nalle's ballet class and they told her somehow yesterday during ballet. She told me last night in GEMS that Maggie had a brain tumor and had surgery today. I emailed Laura and Jennifer this morning to see if there was anything we could do to serve your family during this time. So sorry that we didn't know about your recent trial. Praising God that Maggie is out of surgery and being cared for so well.
With love,
Mindy
