She's in the OR...

Johns Hopkins is a caring, wonderful place. They have been gracious, kind and very helpful. Maggie had a good pre-op visit. She put on her gown, and special slippers, and choose rootbeer flavor for the "falling asleep" mask. She also made a doll with a hospital gown, and named her Elana. Maggie is so, so brave. She was never scared or nervous, just her usual curious and fun self. She was very trusting (just the way I want to be with my God).

Surgery will start very soon. Please pray for Dr. Ahn. I told him we had prayed for him many times the past few days, and he was grateful.

  1. My dear Shelley-
I'm praising God -- the King of creation!
He is our help and salvation!
Asking Him for wisdom and skill and strength for those who are serving you at the hospital.
Asking for healing and strength for Maggie.
Asking Him for joy and hope and peace for those who can only wait.
And praising God some more -- the Author and Perfector of Maggie's life.
    Love,
    BethL.

  2. Shelley, dear friend,

We are all praying here. We're remembering how much God loved us and gave His Son for us - and for Maggie. We're calling out to the Great Physician, our Shield, our Rock, and our Redeemer to heal her, lift you up, guard your heart, and shelter you under His wings. May your heart be filled with songs of joy in Him as you wait.

    With deep love and affection,

    Susan and the Crew

  4. I'm in tears as I read what you wrote about Maggie's bravery. It's truly amazing to think about how God formed her character, her nature and personality, to be able to endure such moments cheerfully. Thank you for keeping us updated. Praying on, Amy
